«مسيحي» يعلن رأس السنة الهجرية إجازة بمصر

لم يكن رأس السنة الهجرية يوم احتفال أو إجازة رسمية بمصر، فى سابق الزمان، إلى أن قام بطرس باشا غالى رئيس الحكومة المصرية عام ١٩٠٩ ميلاديا الموافق ١٣٢٧ هجريًا، عندما قرر رئيس الحكومة يومئذ من غلق المصالح والدواوين فى اليوم الأول من السنة الهجرية، وبهذا أضيف يوم الهجرة إلى الأعياد الرسمية، فى تلبية للدعوة التى طلب بها بعض الشباب حينها، ليصبح الأمر تقليدًا ثابتا منذ ذلك الحين وحتى يومنا هذا، رغم أنه كان يقام احتقال غير معمم فى بادئ الأمر إلى أن تم تعميمه كما بالوقت الحالي.
