انطلقت، منذ قليل، الانتخابات على مقعد رئاسة البرلمان الأفريقي، والتي يَتنافس فيها النائب مصطفى الجندي، المرشح المصري وشمال أفريقيا، ونكودو روجيه دانج من وسط أفريقيا، وشارومبيرا من جنوب أفريقيا.
ويبلغ عدد الحضور فى جلسة البرلمان الأفريقى التى تشهد الانتخابات على مقعد الرئاسة 222 عضواً، من إجمالى من 258 عضوا يحق لهم التصويت.
