تنوّع وتختلف أساليب ممارسة التسول في مختلف دول العالم، ففي الدول الأوروبية التسول عن طريق عزف الموسيقى، وفي مصر، هناك من يجلس أمام المساجد أو الكنائس وغيرها من المزارات الدينيه إلى جنب ترديد عبارات تثير العاطفة.
إلا أنه في الآونة الأخيرة، انتشرت ظاهرة التسول بمدينة الغردقة، والمدن السياحية الأخرى، ومع مرور الوقت، أصبحت الظاهرة "مهنة"، تثير غضب واستياء السائحين وخاصة كلمات الاستجداء باسم الإنسانية، ما دفع صحفي الدستور للتنكر كمتسول، في مغامرة لرصد ما يحدث في شوارع الغردقة.
