قال الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، إنه من حي شعبي، وأسرته متدينة تدين وسطي، مضيفًا أنه كان يحرص دائمًا على التحدث مع والدته.
وأشار "السيسي"، خلال فيلم "شعب ورئيس"، اليوم الثلاثاء، إلى أن والدته كانت دائما تخبره: "أنت مخلص ومتخافش"، لافتًا إلى أنه تأثر جدًا بعمه محمود والذي توفي منذ 40 عامًا، معقبًا: "كان عنده إيثار عجيب، ومبيغلطش في الكلام رغم بساطته".
