رئيس البرلمان فى الوقت الذى يعول فيه الكثير من الصحفيين على أن تسهم انتخابات التجديد النصفى لمجلس النقابة، فى تقليل الخلافات بين النقابة ومؤسسات الدولة، انفجرت أزمة جديدة بين البرلمان ووسائل الإعلام، على أثر توجيه الدكتور على عبدالعال، انتقادات إلى مؤسسة "الأهرام"، واتجاه عدد من النواب إلى تحرير بلاغ ضد الكاتب الصحفى إبراهيم عيسى، بتهمة إهانة البرلمان.
