قالت الفنانة سلوى خطاب، إنها تحب الديانة البوذية لأنها قائمة على احترام المشاعر الإنسانية بغض النظر عن الدين، مشيرة إلى أنها فيها إنسانية عالية جدًا وهناك العديد من المشاهير يعتنقون ويؤمنون بهذه الديانة. وأضافت خلال لقائها ببرنامج «أنا وأنا»، المذاع على قناة «أون إي»، أن الدين أمر مهم في حياة الإنسان، وذلك كونه يشعر الإنسان أنه في عناية إلهية، معقبة: «أنا حاسة إن لو الإيمان مش موجود كانت الناس اخترعته».
