بدى تركي آل الشيخ رئيس هيئة الرياضة السعودية، والرئيس الشرفي للأهلي تحفظه على بعض الأشخاص داخل مجلس إدارة الأهلي، قائلا أن الجمهور يجب أن يعلم ما يقوم به من أجل النادي.
وقال أل الشيخ في تصريحاته لقناة "أون اي" الفضائية: "أنا السبب في صفقات كثيرة للنادي الأهلي خلال الفترة الأخيرة، هذا هو الواقع، لكني أريد أن أفهم تفسير لما يقال عن أني قادم من أجل السيطرة على النادي الأهلي بأموالي."
