كشف الفنان أحمد مكي، عن سبب كتابته لأغنيته الأخيرة "أغلى من الياقوت"، قائلًا إن فكرة الأغنية جاءت له بعد ولادة ابنه، موضحًا أنه شعر بسعادة غامرة بعد رؤية ابنه لأول مرة.
وأضاف "مكي"، خلال حوار له مع برنامج "TheInsider بالعربي" أنه بعد ولادة طفله ظل يتذكر طفولته وما حدث بها، مشيرًا إلى أنه عانى من عدة مشاكل بسبب التفكك الأسري وفكر في كتابة الأغنية كوصية لابنه حتى لا يعاني هو الآخر.
